For the past three years I have working towards a goal-getting my bachelors of arts in digital photography. It seems like everything else got pushed aside. I had to be focused. I have a lot of demands on my time, including a family, and if I was going to finish my schoolwork it had to be near the top of the list. Sacrifices were made on everyones part. The boys got less time with their mom, I got to see/play with them less. Lots of tears, stress and late or sleepless nights. Three weeks ago I achieved that goal. Upon the completion of my goal I decided to throw a party. A way to celebrate my accomplishment and introduce myself to the art world. This party took form in a gallery show. I was to have ten pieces hung in a building for just under two weeks. After planning every detail I could think of for four months, the show happened as scheduled. It will come down tomorrow. Since I finished school and my show is almost over I have asked myself and been asked, what now? What is the next step? Is their a scarier question? Now I am on my own. I have no more excuses, and at least one less demand on my time. It is time for me to take a leap of faith and start my business. This is the dream. The thing I have been working towards. Finally I get to do photography for a living. So, here we go. Ready, set, jump!
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
